The National Spatial Strategy in plain English
Over a short period of time Ireland has developed rapidly. However, this rapid development has not been experienced evenly across Ireland. Certain areas have experienced rapid development while other areas have not experienced much.
Ireland needs more balanced development. The NSS aims to ensure that Ireland’s cities, towns and rural areas develop in a way that meets the needs of the growing population, economically, socially and physically. It will help to build the confidence of investors in the future prospects of various parts of Ireland. In order to end uneven development and start to achieve more balanced development a 20 year strategy was created. This strategy is called the National Spatial Strategy.
